  • Understand how servers and storage are connected together over redundant FibreChannel SANs.
  • Describe the NX-OS operating system and understand how it provides higher availability and manageability.
  • Position the Nexus 7000 within the Core and Aggregation layers and identify key components.
  • Understand how Unified I/O and FCoE can help reduce cabling while providing more bandwidth to servers.
  • Position the Nexus 5000 at the Access layer and identify key components and connectivity to servers.
  • Position the Nexus 2000 as a Fabric Extender for the Nexus 5000 for connection of legacy servers.
  • Identify appropriate top-of-rack (TOR) and end-of-row (EOR) deployments for Nexus 5000 and Nexus 2000.
  • Explain the use of VN-Link and the benefits of connecting VMWare ESX servers to the Nexus 5000.
  • Position the Nexus 4000 as Unified I/O and FCoE compliant Blade switch that provides FC and Ethernet connectivity for IBM, Dell and HP Blade servers.
  • Position the Nexus 1000v in virtual server environments as an enhancement to the VMWare VSwitch.
  • Identify key features and components of Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).
  • Explain the benefits of deploying Cisco UCS within a Data Center architecture.
